Here's a new landscape; 12 x 48"; already gifted!
It's the view from on top of "Sound of Music" knoll, near by.

Happy Family
This tryptich painting was made to celebrate the marriage of our son to his lovely wife, Huiyi, who is from Taiwan.
The right panel represents his world, and the left panel represents her world; the center panel is their shared world. Huiyi painted the calligraphy in the center of the umbrella, which, roughly translated means "Happy Family" (with blessings).
So here's wishing many blessings to the happy family!
Cheers

Summer
4 pages of summer!
You might be wondering, what IS this book?
Well, I have to check with the authors before I release the title.....
but here's a hint: see Grandfather Mountain sleeping in the background of all the pages?
Yep. It's about the beautiful place where I live.
Cheers!

Next step: Spring
Next, I designed a mountain scene. This scene will be on every page, but of course it will be a different rendition.
Starting with SPRING: 4 pages of spring!
Now, this is just the back drop.
The text will be at the bottom semicirlce, and images representing text will be painted into the scene.
the beginning
OK! A new project!
Illustrating a book!
It's something I've always wanted to do!
So, to begin:

Illustrating a book!
It's something I've always wanted to do!
So, to begin:
- I took 140 lb watercolor paper, and gesso'ed it on both sides.
- Then measured 8" x 8.5"
- Creased, folded and tore pages so that all edges are deckled
Cheers,
Susan
